Phil Mickelson, Super League

The official responses of the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour are awaited, which on several occasions have invited their members to desert the appointments of the new reality of the green. The competition, scheduled at Centurion Golf Club, will see 48 players on the field and will give away 20 million dollars. Among these there could also be 15 of the top 100 in the world ranking.

The most famous southpaw in golf, Tiger Woods’ toric rival and champion of six Majors, had decided to take a break after the controversy sparked by his “reflection” in open notebooks regarding the so-called Super League of golf, Super Golf League (SGL ) reserved for super top players and in clear competition with the American circuit, the Pga Tour. Mickelson, born in 1970, was among the first to join only to declare: “They are bastards to do business with. They killed Khashoggi and they have a Horrible reputation on human rights. They sentence gays to death. Why do I still consider them? Because this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to influence the way the Pga Tour works. “

The golf legend, who spoke at a press conference before Genesis International, admitted that he is not yet in shape and therefore does not know when he will be able to return to the field. Mickelson publicly doused his head in ashes apologizing for his outburst, to tell him an unauthorized behind-the-scenes. Following his statements, the sponsors were furious and now Phil has decided to disappear for a while: “Although it may not seem so given my latest statements – he said in an official statement -. All I have done is always. been in the interest of sport, teammates, fans and sponsors. I used words for which I deeply apologize and which do not reflect my feelings and intentions (…) I will make every effort to reflect on myself and learn from this situation”.
