Juventus FC star wants to learn from ‘great champion’ Novak Djokovic

Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic called Novak Djokovic “a great champion” and expressed desire to learn from his fellow compatriot.

Vlahovic, 22, is one of the most talented players at the striker position in football.

Vlahovic is enjoying a great popularity back home in Serbia and he would like to learn a thing from two 20-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic.

Djokovic is one of the greatest players in tennis history and his mental strength is one of the most astonishing things in all sports.

“Michael Jordan, I like his mentality. And Novak Djokovic. He’s from Serbia and he’s definitely number one so I have always admired him. He’s a great champion. I want to find out more about how he has done certain things. He is so good for mental strength: how he deals with certain problems and how he can play seven matches in a row and overcome seven obstacles to win a Grand Slam,” Vlahovic told The Telegraph.

Djokovic to return to action at Wimbledon

At the French Open, Djokovic suffered a quarterfinal defeat to Rafael Nadal.

After the loss, Djokovic returned home and next tournament on his schedule is expected to be Wimbledon.

Last week, coach Goran Ivanisevic confirmed Djokovic likely won’t play any tournaments leading up to Wimbledon.

“Probably nothing (before Wimbledon). We will see, but now is the time to recover mentally. As I said before, people like Novak are geniuses with a different way of thinking – they need a little time to come back and put some things together in their head, but it still takes time. Then that’s it, and he has experienced disappointments before, I know he will be ready for the grass,” Ivanisevic told Sport Klub.

It is not a secret that Djokovic wants the all-time Grand Slam record but he now trails by two Grand Slams to Nadal.

Djokovic is a six-time Wimbledon champion and he will be looking to win his 21st Grand Slam at The Championships this year.
