‘I enjoyed just watching Roger Federer on…’, says Top 10

Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr revealed that the Warriors had the opportunity to meet Roger Federer in Shanghai a few years ago and that’s when he realized that Federer and Stephen Curry looked alike. A 20-time Grand Slam champion, Federer is one of the greatest players in tennis history and is often credited with revolutionizing the game. On the other hand, Curry is definitely an all-time basketball great and has revolutionized the game with his shots. Curry is considered by many to be the best shooter in basketball history and, although he is 34 years old, he is still one of the best players in the NBA. Federer, 40, was well into his 30s when he won his last Grand Slam (the 2018 Australian Open), while Curry, 34, is now playing in the NBA Finals. Both Federer and Curry love the game and approach it in a way that has allowed them to do so for a long time and be successful in the process. “In fact, we met Federer a few years ago in China, when we played in Shanghai. He came and spoke in our locker room, and Draymond (Green) asked him, ‘How have you been doing this for 20 years?’ Kerr recalled. ‘And his answer was simple, but profound. I love to compete. But every day, I put my head on the pillow at the end of the day and think, man, what a great day.’ So I think about Steph a lot when I think about that Roger Federer story. It’s very, very similar, a kind of zest for life and joy in the process.”

Tsitsipas pays tribute to King Roger

Stefanos Tsitsipas expressed his immense admiration for 20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer and described playing with Federer as a “never in a lifetime scenario.” “I have a lot of respect for him. I enjoyed just watching him on TV. Probably hitting with him on a tennis court would have been a never-in-a-lifetime scenario. When I first faced him, I was about to serve and I was thinking, ‘Roger is on the other side of the net’. He is my childhood hero. This is beyond unimaginable. He is someone that is difficult to believe he’s real. It’s incredible what he has done with all his records and the game-style,” Tsitsipas said. Tsitsipas continued to praise Federer enthusiastically and stated that he missed the Swiss on the tour. “Yeah, I quite miss him. He’s a very charming person. You know, everyone loves him,” said Tsitsipas.
