Greg Norman has been in the spotlight since LIV Golf was founded. Greg is under a lot of pressure, he is in a fight with many of ‘them’, but he does not give up on his goals and project.
Greg Norman spoke on Fox News with Tucker Carlson about the offer Tiger Woods had to join LIV Golf. Their goal was to attract only the best, but Woods still did not accept such an offer. Tiger had other plans.
“That number was out there before I became CEO. So that number has been out there, yes,” Norman said for the fox news.
“And, look, Tiger is a needle-mover and of course you have to look at the best of the best,” Norman said.
The media talked about a figure between $700 million and $800 million. In the end, it turned out to be true, which was also confirmed by Greg Norman. LIV Golf uses incredible numbers to reach its goal, but it seems that it doesn’t work for everyone.
“So they had originally approached Tiger before I became CEO. So, yes, that number was somewhere in that neighborhood.”
LIV Golf and noise
Reporters asked Norman why LIV Golf created so much noise. It is obvious that the biggest reason is Saudi Arabia, which is behind the whole story. We know that they do not have such a good relationship with the USA.
“I don’t know.”
“I really don’t care,” Norman said. “I just love the game so much and I want to grow the game of golf and we at LIV see that opportunity not just for the men but for the women.” The LIV Golf Invitational is off for a month during the FedEx Cup playoffs on the PGA Tour, returning over Labor Day weekend about an hour west of Boston, and then two weeks later plays in the Chicago suburbs.
Tiger Woods is against LIV Golf and has been clear about his intentions from the beginning.
