Emma Raducanu wants to return to being a protagonist in the WTA Tour after the collapse in the standings immediately at the US Open. The British was unable to defend the title won in the 2021 edition and she had to lose over 60 positions in the world rankings, down to 77th place.
However, the 19-year-old is continuing her growth path and can’t wait to make her mark again in a tournament with the title victory. After the New York Slam, the Toronto native took part in a competition in Slovenia, leaving the stage in the round of 16 due to the German Anna-Lena Friedsam.
The next appointment on the court for the 2002 class is in Korea in a WTA 125: she will be on the main draw as seed number 6 and she will face the Japanese Moyuka Uchijima in the first round.
Emma Raducanu: “I want to win again”
Raducanu recently confessed to being a Tottenham fan of Mr. Antonio Conte and to closely follow the soccer player Son Heung-min, certainly one of the most important stars of the London club.
In an interview she said: “Obviously I would like to win a title and to be honest I think it doesn’t matter at what level. The more games I can play, the better. I know this benefits me,” she commented.
Then he went on and concluded: “I know I would have to go through a year of development at some point and last season I completely skipped it. I know I have to do the hard stuff, that’s what I want after winning the US Open.”
Emma’s exploit at Flushing Meadows really surprised everyone in the last year: the victory of a Teen Slam has really changed the life of Raducanu, who has had considerable advantages in terms of image but also problems from the point of view attention.
Some expected continuity in the successes of the British, which did not meet her very high expectations. In the next season, also, she will want to return among the main protagonists of the women’s Tour.
