Carlos Alcaraz was the winner of the ATP Masters 1000 in Madrid. The 19-year-old Spaniard won in two sets against world number three, Alexander Zverev, with the final result of 6-3 6-1.
Although the duration of the match was short, the physical effort required for the tournament was massive: the new world number six had to win against Nadal first, against Djokovic later, becoming the first player to do so on clay.
For this reason, the Spanish number two has decided to retire from the Internationals of Rome, to regain energy in view of the second Grand Slam of the season, Roland Garros.
While waiting to recharge, Alcaraz gave a show: from the balcony of his house, in Murcia, he showed the Madrid trophy, with the public cheering from the street. Below you can watch teh video:
