Former Youngstown State standout Kendrick Perry has reached an agreement to join Unicaja next season, the team announced Monday.
Per the press release: “Unicaja has reached an agreement in principle with point guard Kendric Perry for his joining the team next season with the option of a second. 1.83 m. tall and 29 years old, this season Perry made his Euroleague debut with Panathinaikos to play the second part of the campaign at Buducnost. The player has a Montenegrin passport that will allow him to play with a European Licence.”
Perry, 29, will play in Spain’s Liga Endesa for the first time. Since turning professional in 2014, his European travels have sent him from Hungary, North Macedonia, and Russia to France, Serbia, and Slovenia, before splitting the last season between Greece and Montenegro.
With the team based in Malaga emerging among the early candidates for the 2021-22 edition of the Basketball Champions League, he is likely to return to the Basketball Champions League following the solid campaign as a member of Nizhny Novgorod in 2018-19. He has since logged 19 games played in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and 24 in the 7DAYS EuroCup.
