The Bakken Bears secured the services of 2016 Mr. Pennsylvania Basketball Tony Carr, the team announced Friday.

Carr, 24, was selected 51st overall by the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2018 NBA draft but has yet to play in the NBA, apart from a couple of Summer League campaigns. The Penn State product carries European experience including nine 7DAYS EuroCup appearances with Fiat Torino in his first pro season, 2018-19. Similar to fellow summer signing and veteran of 19 NBA games with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Deng Adel, he will join Denmark’s Basketligaen champions in August, following the conclusion of the 2022 CEBL season in Canada.

In late September, the Bears will be in Belgrade looking to win the Qualification Group and clinch a berth in the Regular Season of the 2022-23 Basketball Champions League. Adding experienced guard Skyler Bowlin, reuniting with Noah Sorensen, and retaining Michel Diouf, Ryan Evans, Darko Jukic, and Morten Sahlertz are the rest of the offseason moves so far.

Elsewhere in the Champions League, Rytas kept American big man Jarvis Williams for the 2022-23 season. Previously re-signing with the Betsafe LKL champions was Evaldas Kairys. The list of reinforcements features Martynas Echodas, Marcus Foster, Gytis Masiulis, Benedek Varadi, and Todd Withers coming in for the team based in Vilnius.

Winner League champion Hapoel U-NET Holon reunited with youth product Harel Dadon after a separation lasting two years. The 24-year-old point guard joined Shamar Amir, Kenny Kadji, C.J. Harris, and Marvin Jones as the summer additions. Frederic Bourdillon, Hayden Dalton, Niv Misgav, and Joe Ragland all penned contract extensions.

Another move in Qualifiers outfit FMP Meridian inking 26-year-old Lithuanian guard Paulius Valinskas to a two-year contract. Beau Beech, Trent Frazier, Charles Jenkins, Ognjen Matovic, Luka Vudragovic, and Andrija Vukovic made out the earlier summer signings.

Fellow Qualifiers participant Budivelnyk added Illja Tyrtyshnyk and retained Andrey Gritsak. Other confirmed arrivals are Bogdan Bliznyuk, Vyacheslav Bobrov, Archie Goodwin, and Pavlo Krutous along with new head coach Valery Plekhanov.
