Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal both scored 17 points and Team USA was able to rout Argentina 108-80 in Las Vegas on Tuesday for their first exhibition win ahead of Tokyo’s Olympics later this month.
Zach LaVine scored 15 points for the winner, who have lost their first two games to Nigeria and Australia. Damian Lillard scored 13 points and Bam Adebayo had 12 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds for the USA.
Argentina’s pillar Luis Scola, who will play in the Olympics for the fifth time in his career, scored 16 points in 19 minutes, while Nicolas Laprovittola followed with 13 points, Facundo Campazzo had 12 and Gabriel Deck added 10.
In the meantime in Las Vegas, the Australian Boomers took down Nigeria in impressive fashion with a 108-69 win, while resting Patty Mills, Joe Ingles, Aron Baynes and Matthew Dellavedova.
Chris Goulding took the chance and led the Australian selection with 21 points in 22 minutes on the court, as center Duop Reath added 17 points, Nathan Sobey had 15 and Jock Landale followed with 14 points.
Josh Okogie and Obi Emegano were the only two players to hit double figures for Nigeria with 10 points each.
