Preparing for upcoming international fixtures, the Czech Basketball Federation released the list of 15 players called up for the 2022 EuroBasket.

FC Barcelona newcomers Tomas Satoransky and Jan Vesely are the main highlights alongside Oklahoma City Thunder’s Vit Krejci.

Krejci, 22, made his senior debut by competing in the 2019 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers and was also capped in helping his country survive the Qualifiers of the approaching EuroBasket. Both Satoransky and Vesely have been regulars for the national team since 2009.

Czech Republic’s 15-man list:

Patrik Auda (Yokohama B-Corsairs)
Ondrej Balvin (Prometey)
Jaromir Bohacik (Brose Bamberg)
Vojtech Hruban (London Lions)
David Jelinek (UCAM Murcia)
Vit Krejci (Oklahoma City Thunder)
Martin Kriz (ERA Nymburk)
Tomas Kyzlink (Brose Bamberg)
Lukas Palyza (ERA Nymburk)
Martin Peterka (Lowen Braunschweig)
Viktor Pulpan (egoe Brno)
Tomas Satoransky (FC Barcelona)
Ondrej Sehnal (Lowen Braunschweig)
Jan Vesely (FC Barcelona)
Tomas Vyoral (KVIS Pardubice)

The focus is on EuroBasket but the Czech Republic is also slated to compete in the second and final round of the 2023 FIBA World Cup European Qualifiers in late August. Visiting France and hosting Hungary will tip off Group K with the top three teams of the six-part pool clinching a berth in next summer’s World Cup.

Hosting Group D of the preliminary round of EuroBasket sets up games versus Poland, Serbia, the Netherlands, Finland, and Israel between 2-8 September. Landing first through fourth would extend the run into the knockout stage of the tournament to be held from 10 to 18 September in Berlin, Germany.
