Jonas Valanciunas and Domantas Sabonis were just spectators until now in the Lithuanian national team practices due to the FIBA-NBA agreement rules.
However, the time has come and both of them are free to practice with the rest of the team, as was officially announced by the Lithuanian basketball federation.
Per the FIBA-NBA agreement, NBA players – unless there’s a special arrangement with their franchise – can be part of the preparation period of their national team for 28 days before major FIBA tournaments and 14 days before the Olympics.
Without them onboard, Lithuania has beaten Estonia 84-70 in their first prep game for the upcoming Eurobasket 2022.
