Real Madrid holds on to match Barcelona 6-0 ACB start

After the double-digit lead was cut to two points, Sergio Llull scored five straight points in crunch time sealing the win, 79-71, for Real Madrid at Rio Breogan.

French forward Guerschon Yabusele registered a team-high 14 points in the ACB Regular Season Round 6 held at Lugo, Spain. Rudy Fernandez, Alberto Abalde, and Walter Tavares had nine points apiece, while Llull, Carlos Alocen, and Thomas Heurtel added eight points each.

Adam Hanga picked up an injury in Friday’s Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Round 4 visit at Panathinaikos and joined the list of missing players already featuring Trey Thompkins and Anthony Randolph.

Pablo Laso’s side with Sunday’s W improved to 6-0 in the Spanish League to reach FC Barcelona on top of the standings. The hosts went down to 3-3, despite nearly coming back from a 15-point deficit in the fourth quarter. Trae Bell-Haynes packed 17 points behind 7/12 field goals and Dzanan Musa ended up with 16 points to his name.

Coming up for the Whites off to a 3-1 start in EuroLeague, Fenerbahce Beko at home in Round 5 action scheduled for Thursday.

Earlier, Gran Canaria got to 4-2 in the Spanish League rolling Coosur Real Betis, 94-70. Surne Bilbao notched its first win, 85-80, opposite Urbas Fuenlabrada.

Baskonia hosting Lenovo Tenerife (18:30 CET) completes the Round 4 schedule.
