Prometey beats Fener in Day 2 of Pinar Cup

Prometey defeated Fenerbahce Beko 93 – 89 in Day 2 of the Pinar Cup preseason tournament to advance to the Final. Fener will be returning to Istanbul after completing the tournament with a 1-1 record while the Ukrainian side will face tournament host Pinar Karsiyaka in the Final.

Caleb Agada posted 18 points and had four steals for Prometey. DJ Kenney scored 16, Gian Clavell dropped 14 points and Ondrej Balvin finished the match with 12 points plus seven rebounds.

Sehmus Hazer led Fener scorers with 22 points. Jonathan Motley had 14 points and Melih Mahmutoglu added nine points for Dimitris Itoudis’ squad that is still missing forward Nemanja Bjelica and big man Tonye Jekiri.

Fener will travel to Istanbul to prepare for the first official game of the new season: The Turkish Presidential Cup against reigning EuroLeague champion Anadolu Efes Wednesday (28/9).
