Milos Teodosic will be sidelined for at least three weeks after hyperextending his left knee, Virtus Segafredo Bologna announced Monday.

The tests performed today revealed post-contusive bone edema to the external tibial plateau, as noted in the press release.

Teodosic, 34, was helped off the court late in the LBA Regular Season Round 15 fixture opposite UNAHOTELS Reggio Emilia Sunday. He was up to 18 points and nine assists over 28 minutes until his early exit. His side prevailed improving to 11-3 in the domestic league.

The packed list of unavailable players already includes Ekpe Udoh, Awudu Abass, and Nico Mannion. The Serbian player sidelined becomes the latest major blow for the team coached by former Toronto Raptors assistant Sergio Scariolo.

Teodosic, point guard for the Los Angeles Clippers from 2017 to 2019, has averaged 13.3 points, 8.1 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per 7DAYS EuroCup game through seven appearances this season. The team based in Bologna standing at 5-3 sits in a tie with Valencia in third place of Group B, one win behind Buducnost VOLI and Gran Canaria.

His 10.1 points, 6.9 assists, and 1.8 rebounds per contest so far through his third season in the Italian league have helped his side rank second, a couple of games behind Ettore Messina’s AX Armani Exchange Milan.

Besides the ongoing run with Virtus Bologna and his two NBA years, Teodosic spent six seasons at CSKA Moscow and four at Olympiacos. He appeared in 237 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games between the two European powerhouses and was crowned champion as a member of CSKA in 2016.
