Ognjen Jaramaz made ten out of 15 teams points in overtime leading FC Bayern Munich to the home win, 72-68, against JobStairs Giessen 46ers on Sunday.
Andrea Trinchieri’s side coming off a couple of defeats in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague this week and playing for the third time in five days went five extra minutes. Besides the tight schedule, Darrun Hilliard and Othello Hunter were sidelined alongside Vladimir Lucic and Leon Radosevic.
Jaramaz, 26, missed a free throw late in regulation but bounced right back with ten points in overtime upping his total for the easyCredit BBL Regular Season Round 4 fixture to 18 points. Deshaun Thomas posted an 18-point, 14-rebound double-double and Augustine Rubit had 12 points.
The visitors were in control for most of the second half but failed to complete the upset. B.J. Blake logged a game-high 19 points in the losing effort.
Bayern improved to 2-1 in the German League sending its opponents to 1-3.
Also, EWE Baskets Oldenburg, currently 1-0 in Basketball Champions League Regular Season Group H, confirmed the addition of Cameron Clark. The Phoenix-born forward is available to play against ALBA Berlin (18:30 CET).
Elsewhere, Brose Bamberg beat MLP Academics Heidelberg, 72-68, in the battle of undefeated teams. Robin Christen with 22 points was the main scoring contributor for Hamburg Towers in the 77-70 victory over medi Bayreuth.
