The Boston Celtics met with Dennis Schroder, however, what was presented to him was not what he was waiting for.
According to Jordan Schultz, the Celtics offered to Schroder “a one-year deal at the taxpayer $5.9M mid-level exception”.
Per the same report, Schroder wants the full mid-level exception which is $9,5 million, plus a second-year player option.
That’s not what the German guard was aiming for when he turned down a mid-season offer by the Lakers for a four-year, $84-million extension.
Per the Boston Herald, Schroder is “in a state of shock because of what he’s done”.
