Following Spain’s Liga Endesa Regular Season Round 34 contest between Bitci Baskonia and Joventut on Saturday, Brandon Paul went on Twitter and called out Wade Baldwin IV.

“I’m a professional first but I’m never going for another man who tries to spit in my face,” he wrote without initially naming the former Vanderbilt standout, “Kept my mouth shut for three years on this coward. Ask anyone about his character and they’ll tell you. Ask any single person on ‘19-20 Olympiacos, they’ll tell you in a heartbeat. I bet my salary on it.”

“I still hate how they did my brother Will Cherry,” he added, “When Wade tried him too, ask anyone about that.”

After the team based in Badalona claimed the win on the road, the former Olympiacos teammates got into an altercation. Another player of the 2019-20 squad was Will Cherry. According to the Oakland-born point guard, it was an issue with Baldwin that led him to part ways with the Reds midway through the season.

“Ask any of the Americans about him and his girl,” went on Paul, “How they kept a burner IG account and tried to lie on me and another man’s wife. We’ve still got the group chat with all of the receipts/screenshots, all the lies, and deceit.”

“At what age do you stop pulling your hand back during postgame handshakes? Call me out my name after too. Haven’t done anything but tried to help this kid,” wrote the American swingman, an Illinois product going through his fourth season in Europe, “I don’t say stuff for shock value. When people lie it’s because they’re afraid, they feel vulnerable or they need something. I stopped lying when I was in high school because I’m grown. Anyone who’s coached me or played beside me knows my character.”

Both Joventut and Baskonia will be extending their campaigns in the Playoffs of the Spanish league. Resuming action following this week’s Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four, the eight remaining teams will enter a best-of-three series looking to clinch a berth in the Semifinals.

Quarterfinals:

FC Barcelona (1) – Gran Canaria (8)
Real Madrid (2) – Baxi Manresa (7)
Valencia (3) – Bitci Baskonia (6)
Joventut (4) – Lenovo Tenerife (5)
